At the scheduled time, we will head north to the Middle of the World, famous for housing the monument that marks the exact location of the equatorial line, from which the country takes its name. In the midst of an impressive natural setting stands the Equatorial Monument at latitude 0º0’0”. Thanks to its pyramid-quadrangular shape with four monoliths at its corners, this obelisk indicates the geographic orientation of the four cardinal points.
